Some people believe it’s proper for parents to pay kids for housework since it will motivate children to do more things around the house. It also helps children learn about money and how it works. But people against this approach hold that children should do routine housework for free. Housework is part of family life, and every family member should share the responsibility to do it. Personally, I’m not in favor of this practice. Paying kids for chores may send the wrong message : they are entitled for everything parents provide for them while the contributions they make to the family have to be paid for, which is harmful for their personality development and will stimulate their laziness.
